GAMEPLAY FEATURES and DESIGN
DESIGN INTENT
The design of the player gameplay, mechanics and systems has been divided into 2 parts.
The first part is fixed and it’s the Core Design, while the second part is modular and it’s the Specific Module.

The Core Design of the player character comprehends the character view, movement, weapon view, rostering and shooting.
The Core Design is largely founded and inspired by FPS games of the 90’s era.

The Specific Module is a set of different features that is plugged onto the Core Design and comprehends :
- Energy System
- Shield System
- Invisibility System
- Mines
- Weapons Crosshair
- Player Capped Resources Inventory : Med-Kits, Batteries & Mines
- Weapons Ammo & Resources Dropped by Eenemies
- Secondary Weapon Fire on the Slot 1 Weapon
- AI Behaviour
The Specific Module is an experimental iteration of a combination of different features and designs drawn and inspired by a variety of different titles amongst FPS and TPS titles.

The overall design intent of the framework is the experimentation of a blend of designs and features drawn from new and old shooter games.

The ASSAULT PULSE REPEATER is a highly versatile and powerful weapon.
Within the player’s weapon roster, it plays the role of the main weapon, capable of handling a multitude of situation efficiently, and with ammo commonly available throughout the game.

The LANCER PARTICLE CARBINE is an efficient, hard hitting long-distance weapon.
Within the player’s weapon roster, it plays the role of the sniping weapon, specifically tailored for precise shooting at long distances and more efficient when used at long range rather than in close quarters.

The LANG ROCKET LAUNCHER is a brutal assault weapon capable of quickly dispatching groups of enemies.
Within the player’s weapon roster, it plays the role of the area damage weapon. For a rocket launcher, it has a faster than average fire rate, and combined with its long range and medium spread it’s the best tool against groups of less nimble and more stationary enemies.

The PLASMA GUN is handy support weapon.
In the dire circumstances in which the player might run entirely out of ammo, the PLASMA GUN stands by its side to provide a last resort survival tool and allows the player to gasp for air a little bit longer.

Mines

MINES are powerful, dangerous and destructive.
MINES have a timer of three seconds from the moment of deployment to allow the player to reach safe distance before the explosion.
MINES have a large blast radius and inflict extreme damage to anyone and everything caught within the blast.
Within the player’s arsenal, they play the role of tactical tool for the dispatching of threats and sabotaging the environment.



All 3D assets have been purchased as assets packages from the Unreal Marketplace, alongside several textures, particle effects, sound effects and soundtrack
Several sound effects have been borrowed from Freesound.org
